About

In May 1971, the Sports Department was established at Venutai Chavan College, Karad. Through this department, year-round training and guidance is provided for various field sports like Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball, Football, Softball, and Baseball. Additionally, sports equipment is made available to athletes for practice in various games. For participation in competitions at different levels, the Shivaji Education Society and the college always provide support for TA, DA, and financial assistance.


For students of B.A. Part 1 and B.Com Part 1, lectures and practice sessions are organized under the department and Shivaji University for their physical fitness. An annual sports competition for students from each class is organized at the college every year in the month of January. Competitions are organized at the Satara Division or University level.

Facilities

Since the establishment of Venutai Chavan College, the sports department has been functioning, providing athletes with state-of-the-art running tracks and excellent grounds for field events. The department has facilities for sports such as Volleyball, Kabaddi, Football, Kho-Kho, Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Cricket, etc.


Additionally, all athletes in the department are provided with sports equipment, uniforms, and financial assistance (TA, DA) for competitions. Furthermore, special financial assistance is available through the department and college for students participating at state, national, or international levels.


For B.A. Part I and B.Com Part I students, guidance and exercise are provided to maintain their physical fitness. Moreover, the department offers teaching and coaching facilities for each sport.
