About Department
The Bachelor of Commerce in Information Technology (B.Com–IT) is a three-year undergraduate program introduced in 2023–24, affiliated with Shivaji University, Kolhapur . The program aims to develop competent graduates with integrated knowledge of commerce and information technology to meet the evolving needs of industry, business, and the public sector.
The department is supported by devoted faculty members, well-equipped computer laboratories, and a Wi-Fi enabled learning environment. The library, with its print and digital resources, supports continuous learning and awareness of emerging technologies.
Vision
To be a centre of excellence in Commerce and Information Technology education, producing professionally competent, ethical, and socially responsible graduates capable of meeting global business and technological challenges.
Mission
• To impart integrated knowledge of commerce, management, and information technology through a structured curriculum.
• To enhance technical, analytical, and professional competencies through experiential learning and practical exposure.
• To promote industry interaction, alumni engagement, and skill-based training for employability enhancement.
• To inculcate ethical values, leadership qualities, and social responsibility among students.
• To encourage extension activities and community engagement using IT-enabled solutions.
• To prepare students to adapt to emerging technologies and dynamic business environments.
Objectives
The Department of B.Com (Information Technology) strives to:
1. Maintain academic excellence by delivering quality education integrating commerce and IT.
2. Develop industry-relevant skills in accounting software, e-commerce, data analytics, ERP, and web technologies.
3. Strengthen industry–academia linkages through internships, projects, expert lectures, and placement support.
4. Foster research orientation and innovation in business applications of information technology.
5. Promote ethical conduct, professionalism, and corporate responsibility.
6. Encourage community service and social commitment through extension and outreach programmes.
7. Ensure continuous improvement in curriculum, pedagogy, and infrastructure aligned with national and global standards.
