Dear Friends,
It is an honour and a privilege to be the Principal of Shri Shivaji Education Society’s prestigious Venutai Chavan College Karad. The foundation stone of the college was laid by Hon. Yashwantrao Chavan, the first Chief Minister of Maharashtra in the year 1971 to deliver education to socially, economically backward rural and urban students offering a diverse array of undergraduate, postgraduate, vocational and research programs across different disciplines. Adarniya P.D. Patil Saheb followed the steps of Chavan Saheb and brought glory to the College. The college is progressing under the able leadership of Hon. Shri. Balasaheb Patil, former Minister of Cooperation and Marketing, Maharashtra. Embracing the motto “Be one with the downtrodden and the underprivileged”, the college is dedicated to deliver quality education and foster holistic growth of students.The college is permanently affiliated to Shivaji University Kolhapur. Our college has emerged as a beacon of academic excellence continuously striving for institutional quality. We offer programmes in Humanities, Commerce and Business Administration.
There are separate departments for undergraduate programmes in English, Marathi, Hindi, Sanskrit, History, Geography, Economics, Sociology, Political Science, Commerce, Business Administration and Physical Education. The college also runs post-graduate programmes in Marathi, English, Economics, Geography, History, and Advanced Costing. Our students have consistently been contributing to enhance image of the college through their outstanding performance in academics and sports at University, State and National level. Our students have been achieving top rank in the merit list of Shivaji University Kolhapur. The academic results have been at par with the results of the University. It is a matter of pride for us that our students have been placed as Chartered Accountants, Business Entrepreneurs at various organizations. They have been placed in civil services of State and central government.
The mission of the college is to ensure the holistic development of the learners to fulfil this goal, the students of the college are exposed to various co-curricular and extracurricular activities. Our placement cell equips students with requisite knowledge and skills that enables them to avail better opportunities, internships and placements at the renowned organizations.
