About Department

The Department of Economics was established in 1971. The department imparts Graduate education to the Arts and Commerce students and postgraduate education for Commerce from 1981-82 and M. A. Economics from 2022-23. Programs offered in the department B. A. and B.Com integrated and interdisciplinary subject is co-operation. Department also runs a career oriented course in banking since 2007.


Eminent Scholars and academicians such as Prof. S. V. Dravid, Prof. S.B. Sawane, Dr K.D. Jadhav, Dr. P. S. Kamble, Captain T.S. Bangar has worked in the department.


The faculty of this department is optimistic about the student's career . They give their efforts to make a rational and sparkling life of students. Department takes care of overall development of students and encourages them to participate in curricular, co-curricular activities. The department has a good collection of books in the central library and department library.
